26ft Shoal Draft Cutter, Design #193
This cutter of moderate draft is designed for coastal cruising but has the potential for more serious voyaging. Headroom is limited but there is ample internal volume for a crew of two plus gear and stores. Generous beam makes for great deck space and the feel of a little ship. Construction is traditional plank on frame, the simplest and most pleasant way to build a boat of this model. The centreboard is wood weighted with lead and drops through a slotted exterior ballast casting. The working rig is supplimented by a topsail of generous area for off wind sailing.
