14FT Sailing Dinghy Design #271
A boat to sit in, rather than on, was the request behind this large, able sailing dinghy. In light winds the crew sit on the bottom boards and lean against the coaming in a degree of comfort not normally found in boats this size. As the wind picks up the generous beam offers plenty of power and excitement with the crew on the rail. The rig is a simple standing lug on an unstayed mast. A cat rig option– a single gaff sail is also available. A great family boat with room for four. Construction is thoroughly traditional with clinker planking on bent frames all copper fastened.
