37 ft Motor Sailer, Design #108
In recent years we have drawn several of these husky motor sailers. For comfortable coastal cruising they are hard to beat. The large wheelhouse, inside steering, and diesel heater make travelling easy and enjoyable even when the weather is wet and cold. The large simple rig eases the motion and makes passages under sail possible when the wind is fair. This is a large and intricate piece of work and is probably at the limit of what would be manageable for a single-handed builder. It is a fascinating construction project and a lovely little ship. (The design was published in WoodenBoat, January/February 1999.)
